Damien was pretty low, understandably, so to help him we have given him some stick!

There was some banter when he first came in but he probably expected it.

We brought up the fact he was seen crying on TV. Hell get some abuse for a few weeks and then it will settle down.

He likes to take the mickey as much as anyone so he is getting a bit back.

Forum: General Discussion

Who thinks creativity in midfield is an area we could invest in ????

Do we believe Sam's ticker will be tickled pink on Wednesday or will Roy's solid system prevail?

Stronger bench on Wednesday is a given, but how many changes will The Hodster make to the starting line-up???

Now..... where can we find an inspirational midfielder with a goal threat in him???

How many of the Wigan lot involved in that debacle this afternoon will now be looking to jump ship in January???

Forum: General Discussion

Golf terms re LBno11

LB had a nice quote about Spurs having more striking options than Arthur Scargill. This brought to mind the following golf expressions that are common parlance.
A Scargill is a shot that you hit well but ends up in the rough.ie a good strike but a poor outcome!

A Sally is a shot that you hit thinly and it runs along the ground for a considerable distance. ie SALLY GUNNELL, ugly but a good runner.

A Salmon is a putt that is difficult to read. ie SALMON RUSHDIE, difficult to read!

Finally a Dennis a difficult fairly short putt. ie DENNIS WISE, a nasty little five footer.

Forum: General Discussion

A new saying for everyone perhaps?

My son got the Jimmy Carr DVD for his 15th birthday today ( i feel really old) and on it he describes a bj as a gob job ( hope this passes censorship) , how long till this is an everyday term? Being from Northolt i thought this was class. Oh and the lot who slagged off micheal Mckintyre for being to clean, will surely love the Godfather of comedy Sir Jim. Watched frankie Boyle yesterday on dvd and a bit hit and miss to be honest, lots of uneasy silence, and really fake laughter by the comedian, but in partsvery sick and very funny.

Forum: General Discussion

There is NO WAY I'm sitting indoors tonight when my house mate returns from work to dribble over the Spuds thrashing Wigan 9-1 on MOTD. I can't stand them as it is & this will only just be torture after our weekend! I might even nick the main fuse before I go & not get back until the early hours.

Forum: General Discussion

Rules of the game
I cannot recall which game it was yesterday (Saturday) when this incident happened, and what should have been the outcome.

The fourth official holds up the board for a substitution. The game is stopped and the ref blows for the sub to be made. The player being substituted refuses to come off, and then the game continues as though nothing has happened, without the substitution being completed.

My belief was that when the Ref blows for the sub to be made, then it has to happen, but, obviously, my assumptions were quite wrong. Anybody got an idea about this rule?

Forum: General Discussion
